To include moderation of grades (with curriculum if wanted). Moderation of teaching judgements through learning walks and lesson observations with senior leaders and interviews with pupils. Half to whole day depending on the detail in the report or if an evaluation form is jointly filled in at the time.
Leadership and management
To include moderation of grades referring to the quality of monitoring, development planning, consultation procedures and the work of the governing body. Interviews with leaders at all levels; the governing body could be included. Half to whole day depending on the detail in the report or if an evaluation form is jointly filled in at the time.
Behaviour and safety
To include moderation of grades, interviews with the leader in charge, walk of the school, playtime observation, interviews with pupils and inspection of relevant documents. Half day with evaluation form jointly filled in at the time.
Spiritual, moral, social and cultural education (SMSC)
To include moderation of grades, interviews with the leader in charge and with pupils, walk of the school, attendance at assembly, observation of lessons and evaluation of planning. Half day with evaluation form jointly filled in at the time.
Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
To include moderation of grades through interviews with the leader in charge and pupils, walk of the school, analysis of data, evaluation of and other support analyses and evaluation of other documents, including whole class lesson and intervention planning, provision mapping, interval observations, learning logs and records of interviews with parents. Half day with evaluation form jointly filled in at the time.
General advice on SEF writing
Grade moderation and advice on interpreting the Ofsted evaluation schedule. (Includes provision of an outline personalised SEF with prompts to match the new Framework). Half or whole day with report if required.
General advice on SDP writing
Validation of priorities and commentary on effectiveness of monitoring, evaluation of the SMT as a research team, document analysis. (Includes provision of an outline personalised SDP and monitoring grid if required). Half or whole day with report if required.
Ofsted inspection preparation
Training, advice and support materials. Half or whole day.
Governor training and advice
(It is my understanding that headteacher PM is still the responsibility of the LA). What make a difference? Key reporting, How to monitor and evaluate, Ofsted preparation and expectations etc. Half or whole day or twilight session.
